Refuge Ridge Fellowship is a Biblically based church at the Hilltop in Primm Springs, Tennessee.
As a Bible-based church we are committed to equipping families to grow in Christ, live on mission, and express God’s power through Spirit-filled community.
The written words of the Holy Scriptures are divinely inspired and fully authoritative. They are the only writings containing the very words of God. The original manuscripts of the Scriptures are inerrant. The Bible is clearly understandable to all who read it with a willing heart, seeking understanding from the Lord. It contains everything God intended us to know for salvation and is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:15–17; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 1:2–3, 19:7–8, 119:11,105; John 17:17; Romans 15:4, 16:25–26; Isaiah 40:8; 2 Peter 1:21
There is one God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. God is love and demonstrated His love by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus, into the world to die for our sins. Nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus.
1 John 4:7–10, 5:7; Romans 5:8, 8:38–39; Genesis 1:1; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Jeremiah 10:10, 32:17; Hebrews 11:3; Revelation 1:8; Deuteronomy 10:14; John 17:21–22; Matthew 3:16–17, 28:19
Jesus the Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary. He lived among us, performed miracles, and later died on the cross for the sins of the world. He was fully God and fully man, yet without sin. According to the Scriptures, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, appeared to His disciples and many others, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father. He will one day return in power and glory. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus atoned for our sin once and for all and is the only Mediator between God and man.
Hebrews 1:1–2, 4:14–15, 5:9, 7:24–27, 12:2; 1 Corinthians 15:21–22; 1 Timothy 2:5–6; Colossians 1:15–20, 2:9; Galatians 4:4–5; Isaiah 7:14; Acts 1:9–11, 2:23–24, 9:20; Matthew 1:18, 25, 16:16–17, 26:63–64, 27:33–37, 59–60, 28:6; John 1:1–5, 14, 29, 2:19–22, 11:25–27, 20:14–18; Luke 1:35, 22:70, 24:45–47
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and is fully God. He was present at creation, inspired the Scriptures, and was sent by the Father and the Son to indwell, empower, and guide believers. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the heart at salvation, and baptizes every believer into the body of Christ. He fills and empowers believers to walk in holiness, bear spiritual fruit, and operate in spiritual gifts. We believe in the ongoing, active work of the Holy Spirit today—including the baptism of the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, divine healing, and prophetic ministry—as vital for victorious Christian living and the advancement of God's Kingdom.
John 14:16–17, 26, 16:7–15; Acts 1:4–8, 2:1–4, 10:44–46; Romans 8:11–16, 26–27; 1 Corinthians 2:10–13, 6:19, 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–23; Ephesians 1:13–14, 5:18; Titus 3:5
Man was created by God—male and female—in His own image, innocent and without sin. But when Satan tempted man, he chose to disobey God, resulting in the Fall. Because of this, humanity is now subject to sin and death and is in need of God’s grace to be restored to fellowship with Him. God, in His love, sent His Son to redeem man from sin and the effects of the Fall.
Genesis 1–3; Romans 3:23, 5:12–19; Ephesians 2:1–5
Salvation is the free gift of God, available to all who repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead, Jesus made full atonement for sin. Salvation is by grace through faith—not by works—and results in reconciliation with God and eternal life. Jesus is the only way to the Father.
Romans 3:22–24, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9–10; John 3:16, 14:6; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; Acts 4:12
When someone is saved, they are born again—united with Christ in His death and resurrection, and adopted into the family of God. The believer begins to walk in the newness of life, pursuing righteousness and growing in sanctification through the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s Word. Righteous Christian living includes honoring God with our bodies, resolving conflicts biblically, bearing the fruit of the Spirit, and walking in love and truth. The marriage covenant is reserved for one man and one woman, and all sexual expression is designed to take place within that covenant.
Romans 6:11–14; Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Corinthians 6:9–20; Ephesians 4:22–24; 1 John 2:3–6, 3:10; Matthew 19:4–6
The Church is the Body of Christ—composed of all who have placed their faith in Jesus. It is the family of God, united in love and truth, and gathered for worship, the teaching of the Word, mutual encouragement, and the work of the Kingdom. The Church is called to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded.
Colossians 1:24–28; Ephesians 4:11–13; Matthew 28:19–20; John 17:20–23
At Refuge Ridge, we believe that God has ordained His church to be led with both wisdom and plurality. Throughout Scripture, the pattern is clear: local churches were shepherded and overseen by a council of elders, not by one person alone (Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5; James 5:14). These elders serve together as under-shepherds of Christ, guarding, guiding, and nurturing the flock with humility and integrity (1 Peter 5:1–3).
We also affirm the full expression of the five-fold ministry given by Christ—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—to equip the saints for the work of ministry and to build up the body into maturity and unity (Ephesians 4:11–13). By honoring both the biblical model of shared eldership and the diverse gifts of leadership, we seek to reflect God’s design for a healthy, Spirit-led church where every believer is equipped and Christ alone is exalted as the Chief Shepherd.
God equips every believer with spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church and the advancement of the Gospel. We believe in the continuation of all the gifts of the Spirit—as biblically grounded and essential for the Church today. These gifts are to be exercised in love and in accordance with Scripture.
1 Corinthians 12:4–11, 14:1–5; Romans 12:4–8; Ephesians 4:11–13
We believe in water baptism by immersion for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as an outward testimony of the inward work of salvation. We also celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and a declaration of our unity in Him.
Acts 2:38, 8:36–38; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
God has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness. On that day, He will reward those who have trusted in Christ with eternal life in His presence, and will bring eternal judgment upon those who have rejected His salvation.
2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:11–15; Matthew 25:31–46; John 14:1–3; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–9
